In 1988 at the age of 21, Fanny and five other partners, including three of her sisters, launched El Latino Newspaper; after six months of Publishing the biweekly tabloid, the initial investment of 15,000 dollars was gone. Four of the partners left the challenge, and in 1994 Fanny bought the shares from her sister, taking the corporation’s lead. With no experience in publishing, she knew she needed to learn the industry. Her passion and commitment to the Hispanic community; as an immigrant, she understands the need for good local information that resembles her community. “We want to give our readers local information to improve their lives and overall well-being, good, honest and written by reporters that are part of their community is imperative. At El Latino, we don’t just cover the Hispanic community; We are the community. We know the information we need; we lived it.” Today El Latino is the largest Latina-women owned in the state of California. In 2011 the corporation launched Celebrando Latinas Conference, and in the second year, it became the largest in Spanish in the US. Today, we also published Celebrando Latinas Magazine, a bilingual glossy quarterly Magazine to serve and highlight the many Latinas doing great things in our community. In October 2021, under the Google News Initiative GNI  experimental program. We launched Chula Vista Today, a daily news portal for the second-largest city in the county of San Diego.
