‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1’ is set to hit theaters on March 18, and to talk about the expected blockbuster of early Spring, newcomers to the franchise Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgard took over the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego recently.

‘Allegiant’ picks up after the earth-shattering revelations of ‘Insurgent’; Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths.

Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.

The pair of talented actors give life to key characters in the alternative universe in ‘Allegiant’, plays Matthew, an assistant of the mysterious David (Jeff Daniels), the engineer of a community outside of Chicago that’s seeking genetic purity and now sees Tris (Shailene Woodley) as evidence of their purpose.

“Matthew is the first person to introduce the new group of heroes to the new world, outside of Chicago. He is high up in the ranks of welfare, but he might not be entirely what he seems”, Skarsgard shared in an interview with El Latino San Diego.

Hilker plays Nita, one of the soldiers of this new society who teaches Four (Theo James) how to use some wicked-cool drones.

“She is very smart, fierce, a badass, strong, confident women,” Hilker said.

About joining the cast in this third installment of the series franchise, both actors gushed over the huge opportunity. While Hilder admits “it can do everything but nothing at the same time” for her career, she said being part of the film is “mind blowing.”

“Being from Germany, the other side of the world, and being part of this is just magical, it proves that magic does happen,” she added. “I am very grateful for this experience, it was like gong to Disneyland. I can’t wait to go back and film next.”

The Swedish heartthrob, Skarsgard, simply said that being part of ‘Divergent’ was “so much fun.”

“This is the biggest production then I have ever worked on, it’s been a lot of new and great experiences. I look to learn and I think I have,” he said.

‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1’, directed by Robert Schwentke, also sees the return of Zoe Kravitz, Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts and Miles Teller.
