Fanny Miller is the founder, owner, CEO and President of Latina & Associates, Inc., the parent company and publisher of El Latino. El Latino is a Latina- and woman-owned independent media organization serving the Latino community in California.
Founder & Ownership
Fanny Miller co-founded El Latino Newspaper in 1988 at the age of 21, alongside five partners, including three of her sisters.
After the newspaper’s initial launch, several of the original partners left the company. Fanny continued building the publication and, in 1994, purchased her sister’s remaining shares and assumed leadership and ownership of the corporation.
Today, Fanny Miller serves as owner, CEO and President of Latina & Associates, Inc., publisher of El Latino.
Under her leadership, the company has expanded beyond El Latino to develop additional media and community initiatives, including Celebrando Latinas Conference, launched in 2011; Celebrando Latinas Magazine, a bilingual publication highlighting Latina stories and achievements; and Chula Vista Today, a digital local news platform launched in 2021 through an experimental program of the Google News Initiative.
